Walmart Coming to San Carlos, Guaymas, Sonora

It’s official!  Walmart and Sam’s Club are coming to Guaymas, Sonora!  As if the bulldozers that are clearing the way for the foundation weren’t enough proof, I was able to obtain confirmation from the international corporate affairs department at Walmart that they anticipate completion at the end of the second quarter of 2010!

This may not seem like an eventful announcement for some however, for those of us that live in San Carlos and Guaymas, Sonora it’s big news.  No longer will we need to drive to Hermosillo or Obregon when we want to satisfy an urge for warehouse shopping.  These two new stores offer even more convenience for locals, and it also means the addition of many new jobs as well.   Guaymas has a varied and active commercial sector and this is one more feather to add in her cap!
